11 Montessori Activities for Newly Walking Toddlers
They're walking. Kind of. The gait is wide, the arms are up for balance, and every step looks like it might be the last one before they sit down hard. Walking is brand new, and the entire body is reorganizing around this one skill. Every other developmental process has taken a back seat while the brain figures out bipedal locomotion.

3. Carrying While Walking
Small, light object: a ball, a stuffed animal, a book. Hand it to them. They walk while holding it. The carrying adds a balance challenge (weight shifts center of gravity) and an arm-occupation challenge (arms can't windmill for balance). Both challenges build walking skill faster.

4. Walking on Different Surfaces
